Are Fragility Spikers still good?
I was looking at a fragility spiker build just now, and it got me thinking that most builds rely on fragility to stay on the enemy in order to do some major spiking. But isn't it quite easy for a foe or its allies to remove fragility? Please lend your insights.
Oh, and also, I just made a Me/N and I'm looking for a good PvE build using some Domination Magic (at least 9 +1 attribute points in it). So if you could help me with that, I would really appreciate it. I'll look in other threads, too.
Thanks.

If the enemy doesn't have Mend Ailment then it does moderately alright damage. However there are many ways to do DOT dmg that are more quick and efficient than Frag spiking. With Mend Ailment however it renders the entire build useless. I'm assuming you mean to use Fragility + Phantom Pain + Virulence.

I did a Fragiler long time ago. Since the nerf, you do less dmg than before.
Anyway, I give you my build I did before.
Fragility
Phantom Pain
Shatter Delusion
Virulence
Conjure Phantasm
(Energy Management)
Ether Feast
Rez Signet
Like D3k said, Mend Ailment and you're out. But I consider its for PvE so its not really a problem.

There are definitely better damage builds than frag spikers.

Ah, ok, thanks guys.
Francis, if it's not any trouble, could you give me the attributes for that? Thanks.
d3kst3r, what does DOT mean?
Also, does anyone have any other Me/N builds with Domination Magic in it (at least 9 +1)? I found two in the Mesmer Basics thread, but I'm not sure if they were any good.

If I remember correctly, it was.......
Fast Casting :8
Illusion :16
Domination :5
Inspiration :8
Death Magic :8
I still prefer another build than Frag Spiker (Full Dom or Full Illusion). If I want to do condition, I prefer to bring Fevered Dreams and let the warriors doing the job (And ranger too). Anyway, Frag doesn't going well in PvP. But it works well against the doppleganger (Must pay a run to droks and cap virulence at frozen forest)

Frag Spikers died when fragility got nerfed. It was always a cheap build, a sort of iway for mesmers IMO. I never ran it, and i cursed at the fiends who did. Don't stoop to that level

Frag -> Sucks. Closest to spike Mes will ever get: Phatntom Pain/Shatter Del.

mend ailment would get rid of the condition, triggering fragility.

The problem is people removing Fragility. It just doesn't do enough damage either way, however.

Fragility does about 15 dmg per condition. Mend Ailment heals for 60 hp per condition still remaining. And we haven't factored in any Divine Favor either so I'd say the frag dmg is negligible.

You'd have to rely on someone else to inflict conditions, but fragility + crystal wave? Doubles the initial output... -shrug-
